A WHOLISTIC APPROACH

At the Wholistic Wellness Clinic & Spa, we strive to help people better understand the importance of the mind/body connection to their health care. We believe a wholistic approach to wellness is necessary. Typically, you see that word spelled “holistic” rather than “wholistic.” The latter more accurately reflects what we do at Wholistic Wellness Clinic & Spa. We look at the whole person (not the “hole”) and then craft a treatment plan.

As a chiropractic clinic our philosophy is to help people with wellness. Our Mission is to help you regain your inner strength, physically, emotionally and nutritionally. We want to help you be the BEST you can be.

Wholistic Wellness is a fee-for-service practice. We will provide the insurance forms you need to submit to your insurance provider, if you choose. For specific service fees, please call 319.365.1141.

Dr. Catherine Heberling Marentez

DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC

  • Doctor of Chiropractic
  • Certified Yoga Instructor and Movement Specialist

Dr Catherine was raised in Orlando, Florida and although loved the sunshine state, the University of Iowa and the Writer’s Workshop brought her to Iowa. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, in English Literature and Religion and a minor in the Classics. Her original intention was to teach, however, life presented other opportunities.

Her path to Chiropractic began as a result of her oldest son who had been suffering from weekly migraines for almost a year. At her best friend’s (a chiropractic student at the time) suggestion she brought him to Palmer Chiropractic College. After his first adjustment, he did not have a headache for 3 weeks and it was then that Dr. Catherine wanted to know more.

As a result, Dr. Catherine graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic – Davenport in 2011. While at Palmer she specialized in Blair Upper Cervical Technique, which focuses on the treatment of subluxations of the cervical spine. Since joining the WWC Team, she has studied Quantum Neurology, Torque Release Technique, NeuroEmotional Technique, Contact Reflex Analysis, Postural Restoration and Trigger Point Therapy.

Dr. Catherine has always been a lover of movement, first as a dancer then competitive swimming and years of long distance running to her present-day passion: the integration of Yoga, Pilates and Mobility training for therapeutic uses. She continues to explore the latest research connecting movement, neurology and pain.

Through Dr. Cooper’s incredible example, determination and guidance, Dr. Catherine has found a place that feels like home, both challenging and fulfilling. “I am forever grateful to be a part of the Wholistic Wellness Team. We treat the individual with a holistic lens… we are not one-dimensional beings and so we must broaden our scope and always be curious.” – Dr. Catherine

While specializing in Applied Kinesiology, Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Dr. Emmert has also studied Neuro-Emotional Technique, Lebowitz Technique and Contact Reflex Analysis.

Before finding chiropractic, Dr. Emmert suffered for years with childhood migraines. She understands firsthand how powerful chiropractic care and nutrition can have on the body.
